The area, previously overgrown with 8 foot high brambles has been cleared and two lovely pigs Jasmine and Wilbur have been truffling out the roots! BTCV have started laying the pathways. There's plenty of work still to do and more volunteers are needed, so please get in touch with the farm.

Woolly warmers this winter

October 2011

Knitting volunteers across Bristol are helping to keep our farm volunteers warm this winter by knitting socks, hats, scarves, leg warmers and gloves for our dedicated, and sometimes very chilly, volunteers.

The Woolly Thinking knitting shop in Clifton is coordinating the knitting volunteers and supporting the farm by donating patterns, wool and finished winter warmers. If any one would like to knit hats, gloves, socks and scarves or maybe donate some wool from their stash, please contact Nic at Woolly Thinking: nic@woolly-thinking.co.uk or call 0117 973 4444

Woolly garments will also be on sale in the farm shop, all proceeds will go towards raising money for the building of the farm's community cafe.

For anyone interested in learning basic knitting and spinning techniques, come along to the Woolly Warmer day at the farm in December, there will a chance to see the wool from farm sheep being spun and knitted - keep an eye on this website.
